Chinito Catú was born in 1978 in the poverty stricken Guatemala City. At the age of 8 his mother passed away and, since his father was an alcoholic, he and his two younger brothers had the devastating experience of being taken out of their home and placed in an orphanage known as the S.O.S. House.  As a child, Chinito always had a great love for singing as well as sports and he often sang to his brothers at the S.O.S. House.  Living his childhood in an orphanage with his brothers and hundreds of other children has given Chinito a special spiritual motivation to make a difference in the lives of our youth and to be a good example to them.

Today, Chinito loves to sing and see people having fun dancing and singing. He will doing just that at the opening “kick-off” event at the 2015 HoLa Festival.

Soul Sacrifice.jpg

Soul Sacrifice Santana Tribute is quickly garnering a reputation as one of the best and most sought after Santana Tributes in the country. From Woodstock, 1969 to the present day, Soul Sacrifice delivers everything you’d expect from a Santana tribute and more! A perfect blend of familiar melodies, infectious rhythms, searing guitars and honest Latin percussion all delivered with an authenticity that is true to the original recordings. Featuring such hits as Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and Smooth, this red-hot band will keep you on your feet from start to finish!

Forming the core of Soul Sacrifice is the popular Nashville-based classic rock cover band The Bicho Brothers who launched the concept with help from music industry veterans Keith Landry and John Santos. Landry—formerly of Toto and Lee Greenwood and currently the lead singer of LeRoux—brings his powerful voice to bear on these Santana classics that span more than four decades. Santos hails from Cuba and launched his career at the tender age of 13 as Celia Cruz's congero. Santos has played percussion on numerous projects including performing with Tito Puente and War. Add to this a powerful horn section and you have all the ingredients for a salsa caliente!

Bicho Brothers' founder, Chuck Nelson a.k.a. "Carlos" takes on the very essence of Carlos Santana capturing both the look and unmistakable sound of Santana. Just look and listen and you’ll swear it’s the ‘real deal.’ From the very first note you’ll know you’re embarking on a tour-de-force that will take you to familiar places and fond memories, new experiences and fresh sounds—but most importantly, a night of unforgettable excitement, energy and fun.

Pasión Flamenca dance group, directed by Lucia Andronescu, is dedicated to sharing the rich tradition of Spanish dance, music, and culture. For the past nine years Pasión Flamenca dancers have been entertaining Knoxville audiences with traditional flamenco music and dance and continue to bring educational programs to local schools and organizations interested in learning more about flamenco music and dance, typical to Andalucia (Spain). Pasión Flamenca has performed at the Children’s Museum, the Fantasy of Trees, Pellissippi Community College, Rossini Festival and Dogwood Arts Festival and has performed at several past HoLa Festivals.
